21 year-old singer/songwriter Samara York is a breath of fresh air to the Canadian music scene. With a soulful, bluesy voice and a unique, edgy rock sound, Samara creates a fresh new genre with every song she writes. An incredibly experienced performer, Samara has been playing live around Ontario with her 3-piece back-up band for almost 3 years, and performing solo for over 10 years before that. Having won 2 battle-of-the-band style competitions, 2 talent competitions, and multiple vocal excellence awards, Samara's live show is like no other -- and she is only just getting started.

    Singing since the age of five and writing songs since the age of six, Samara has devoted her life to her music. A self-taught vocalist and pianist, she brings an air of honesty and innocence to each of her unique and thoughtful works. At 16 years old, Samara independently released her debut EP titled "Just Passing Through," followed by her 11-song LP, "Insides," which was released in July 2013. Following a successful release party for "Insides" at the prestigious Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, her career has rapidly evolved and expanded.

    Working with an incredible back-up band, (guitarist Jaime Cazes, bassist Tudor Gagea, and drummer Ben Bachner), Samara has performed on multiple big stages across Toronto and the GTA. The foursome have hit the stage at Lee's Palace, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Revival, The Supermarket, and many more; also toting experience at large community-organized events in Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Oakville, Burlington, and Wasaga Beach.

    The band has also played at an official Toronto charity event, Lung Cancer Canada's Evening of Hope Gala, and donated almost $1000.00 in ticket proceeds from the "Insides" CD Release Party to the Toronto Humane Society.

    Samara's music has touched audiences of 10, audiences of 700, and everywhere in between. With brand new and improved original material up her sleeve and a rapidly growing fan base, Samara is about to burst onto the Canadian music scene... in a big way.
